What to expect when you pull in

We're a little off the beaten path, and proud of it. Here's how a visit usually goes.

  1. The white Sweet Roots shop building with raised beds of orange black-eyed Susans and pink blooms out front
    1

Park and come say hi at the shop

You're in the right place, we promise. Pull in, park, and head for the first building. That's the shop: nursery plants out front, and inside a little boutique of gifts, candles, and seasonal décor.

Come say hi. We're always glad you made the drive.

  2. The workshop space set for a bonsai class: round tables with tools, kraft placemats and thank-you cards
    2

    Peek into the workshop space

It's attached to the shop, so you can't miss it. This is where we gather for seasonal crafts, pumpkin arrangements, and bonsai classes. Even on a regular day, it's fun to see what's being made.

  3. Inside Big Beaut, the big hoop greenhouse, with long beds of full-grown green plants and yellow cannas
    3

Wander out to Big Beaut and Lil Beaut

Keep going. Yes, a little farther. Big Beaut is our big hoop house of full-grown green plants, and Lil Beaut is the little pansy greenhouse, small but mighty.

Fair warning: a new greenhouse is going up, so you might see some building happening. It's a good kind of mess. 🌱

  4. A gravel path lined with potted perennials and hostas along a wooden rail fence
    4

Take your time on the nursery grounds

Gravel paths, raised beds, and rows of perennials, shrubs, and patio pots. There's no rush and no map required. Wander as long as you like and ask us anything along the way.

good to know

A few small things

  • Hours change with the seasons

Before you make the drive, take a quick look at our Facebook page for the latest.

  • Questions are welcome

Nobody was born knowing how to grow tomatoes. Beginners are our favorite, so ask away.

  • Bring the kids

Little ones are welcome to wander and look at the plants with you.
